Where is Overlander Mountain Lodge?
Overlander Mountain Lodge is nested at the edge of Jasper National Park. It overlooks the Rockies and it offers picturesque views right from the comfort of your cabins.
It is a 40-minute drive from the town of Jasper. It is closer to Hinton, which is just a 19-minute drive from the property.

Overlander Mountain Lodge – Price Range
The prices can vary depending on the room type & the time period. We stayed during the Labour Day long weekend and we paid C$312 per night for the Heritage cabins with property view. Our friends paid similar prices for the heritage cabins with mountain views.
Depending on the season and the type of property, the price of the rooms can range anywhere from C$180 to C$500 a night.

After a day of hiking or wildlife watching, you can indulge in some delicious cuisine at the Stone Peak Restaurant in Overlander Mountain Lodge.
The cozy dining area with large windows offers panoramic views of the surrounding wilderness, making every meal an unforgettable experience. The restaurant also has patio dining that is perfect for soaking in the views on a sunny day.
The restaurant is located right inside the Reception building.

Overlander Mountain Lodge – Parking
Parking is conveniently located right outside each and every cabin. There are many spots and it is first-come-first-serve basis. During our 3-day stay, we never had any issues with Parking.
There are also some designated parking spots close to the Reception that can be used as well.

Attractions near Overlander Mountain Lodge
The most popular attractions are closer to the town of Jasper. Although Downtown Jasper is a 40-minute ride from the property, the drive itself is a really beautiful one.
You will drive alongside the Athabasca River, Talbot Lake, Edna Lake, and don’t miss the beautiful Emerald Pond. It is a scenic drive and if you are lucky, you might even spot mountain goats, elks, and moose.

Our Experience with Overlander Mountain Lodge
We had a memorable stay at Overlander Mountain Lodge. The views were spectacular, convenient parking and the drives to attractions were filled with scenic views throughout.
The front desk was very friendly, inviting and was helpful with our needs. The room was traditional but it had everything required for a comfortable stay. It is right on the highway and hence makes it easier to reach the attractions.
The property also has beautiful hiking trails nearby.

Is breakfast included with the booking?
No, the breakfast is not complimentary. You can dine ala carte at Stone Peak Restaurant
Can you spot wildlife near Overlander Mountain Lodge?
Yes, if you are lucky. The staff mentioned about bear sightings on the property and we also saw a lot of warnings stuck on the property related to bears. We saw deers in the nearby trails and also paw marks of a bear.
What are the hours of the Restaurant?
Stone Peak restaurant serves breakfast and dinner. It is open 7 days a week. It is open for breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m daily and open for dinner from 5 to 9 p.m.
What are the amenities in the room?
Depending on the type of room booked, the amenities may vary. In the heritage cabins that we stayed at, we had a coffee maker, fan, gas fireplace, desk, full bathroom with a shower and mini fridge
Is Overlander Mountain Lodge pet friendly?
The property has pet friendly options available. Please speak/email reservations to book a pet-friendly stay.
Is Reception open 24 hours?
It is open from 7 a.m to 9 p.m.
Is there Wifi at the property?
Yes, all rooms have wifi. However, the wifi speed was a bit slow.
Is there a gym at the property?
No. But there are a lot of hiking trails nearby for a quick run.
Are there stores nearby?
Hinton has all the big box retailers like Walmart, Canadian Tire and Safeway. It also has popular quick serve brands like Tim Hortons, Mcdonald’s, Wendy’s and Barburrito. It is just a 20 minute drive from the property.
